EXERCISES TO SHARP OUR BRAIN AND ACT INTELLIGENTLY

Give the brain a daily workout to sharpen the focus and stay active

Everyone exercises in order to keep their body fit and sound, but we often forget that not only our body but also our brain requires some basic exercises to stay healthy and work well. If we don’t use our brain on a regular basis or slack off, then it might not work as sharply as it did before, and which in turn will not only disturb our daily routine but also affect our health.

We comprehend this well with Carmen Jacob’s saying, “The individuals that don’t explore their emotions and mind are the ones that suffer the most alone and in silence.” The brain can not only influence our emotions and relations but also direct us towards who we become in the future. This is well portrayed by Ilchi Lee in his quote, “In order to be the master of your life, you must first recognize that you are the rightful master of your brain, its owner and operator.” So if we wish to become the master of our own life, then we need to recognize ourselves as the rightful owner of our brain, else it is easy to be influenced by others no matter whether they say something that benefits us or not. Mr. Jeff Bezos denoted this rightfully in his quote, “The human brain is an incredible pattern-matching machine.”

Exercises to keep our mind healthy and active

1. HAVE TIME FOR SELF

Time is?PRICELESS

Due to the hectic and busy life of the 21st century, we don’t get enough time to spend on ourselves as we are busy getting the things done for the day. We forget ourselves and slowly lose our identity as ‘I’, an individual. So it is important for us to choose some kind of activity that makes us feel alive and drive the passion hidden deep within ourselves to see the light and create wonders. In light of this, Saidi Mdala said,?“You will

become ill or attract illness or disease into your life because you refuse to let your brain grow.”

2.LOOK, LISTEN AND LEARN

Every time it is not important to speak in front of our peers or show them our intelligence. Rather sometimes we need to keep quiet and hear them speak that will not only tell us about the facts that we are unaware of but also give us a much more favorable chance in future to speak better in a much more reasonable way.

Listening to others and studying their body language can enlighten us with deeper knowledge on how to speak in front of a crowd or how to handle situations which are unfamiliar to us. Quoting the same, Albert Einstein said,?“Education is not the learning of the facts, but the training of the mind to think.”

3.ENGAGING IN THE STIMULATING CONVERSATIONS

A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue

Having lump-sum knowledge on any topic, we are at ease to have conversations with others and expand our horizon of knowledge. This not only helps us gain more knowledge but also helps us improve our speaking skills. It is well said by Jay Kristoff that?“Your mind will serve you better than any trinket under the sun. It is a weapon and like any other weapon, you need to practice to be any good at wielding it.”

4.GIVE THE BRAIN A BREAK

Everything needs a break

As said by Hippocrates, “everything in excess of anything is opposed to nature” which means nothing in excess is good, the same applies to our brain. “The mind grows and decays with the body”, said Lucretius. So it is important to give our brain a break and fill it with fresh air so that it works more effectively in times of need. Moreover, practicing this also makes us feel calm and enthusiastic.

“No brain is stronger than its weakest” said Thomas L. Masson. So no matter how less we think, the brain will be never our opponent once we start thinking. By gaining our full potential, we aim at not only building the smartest brain but also developing the strongest heart. These two aspects of the human body working unanimously can lead to surmount the human limits or working incongruity can show the worst disgraceful phases of life.

Jane Goodall quoted well,?“Only when our clever brain and our human heart work together in harmony can we achieve our full potential”. Fred Durst said,?“That’s your best friend and your worst enemy – your own brain”. Our brain being with us can not only make us the ruler of our life but also direct others’ life to achieve the end of the rainbow.

At the same time if our brain is in a conflicting state with us then it may make us surrender all our life’s earnings all at once. So it is important to make right use of the brain in alignment with our goal.

“How to clean up your mind:

Remind yourself that you can’t control everything

Offer yourself compassion and understanding

Free your mind of self-bashing thoughts

Focus more on what you want out of life

Make an effort to understand others better”

– Carmen Jacob
