Executive Presence
Ram is disappointed with what happened yesterday in the meeting with his boss! It is April and it is that time of the year when your boss calls you and tells you how well you have done and what more is in store for you.
Ram's boss Vivek called Ram and told him that he is rated as Very good which is second best rating and he is getting handsome increment. But, Ram is disappointed as he is not promoted and he is not given the responsibility of the New modern factory that the company is setting up!
Ram does not know why he is not being considered. Vivek told him something diplomatically. But that did not give Ram any idea of what is missing from him.
This happens to many Executives. They may be turning out good results, they may be valued by the company very much. But still they are not promoted and they may not really reach the top.

8 个月Great article. I would also encourage employee participation and representation to ensure that business objectives and targets are realistic and achievable and that all challenges are identified and mitigated.
