YOU’VE BEEN GATHERING SKILLS AND ABILITIES ALL THE TIME
You might even be listing them – maybe 40 or even 50 of them – on your CV, but please be aware, that on their own, they don’t make you an attractive hire.
They only level the playing field and make you look similar to everyone else!?
A ‘skill’ is nothing more than an ‘ability’ to do something.
And nobody will value you – pay you – because you have the ability to do something.
You bring your abilities with you, free of charge, whether you use them or not.?
YOUR TRUE VALUE IS IN THE DIFFERENCE YOU CAN MAKE WITH YOUR SKILLS.
Whilst you’re not valued (paid)’ for having an ability – the difference you can make with them, and the impact you can have by using them, will make you stand out from the crowd.
The challenge now therefore lies in identifying and articulating them.
