EXECUTION
Why do we say “you killed it” when you performed exceptionally well? Maybe we recognize how important EXECUTION is in our efforts.
If it is important to do, it is important to do well.
In a Wall Street Journal article titled “What are the Keys to Good Execution?” I found the following paragraph interesting:
Beyond that [the basics of clear goals, means of measuring progress, and clear accountability], good execution requires having a “systematic way of exposing reality and acting on it,” argue Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan in the book “Execution.” Most organizations, they say, don’t face reality very well. It’s the manager’s job to force his organization to face reality, and then to deal with it.
What is the most important thing you are doing? Are you clear how to EXECUTE? When was the last time you thought about EXECUTION?
