Excuse me, WHAT did you just say to me??!!

I absolutely LOVE reading newsletters.

And I had talked about this way back too.

I have subscribed to multiple ones.

They keep crashing into my inbox like relentless ocean waves (deep, isn't it?)

And yep, I try reading them all. Good or bad.

But wait! That's not what this email's about.

Recently, I missed out on reading somebody's newsletter.

Well, even though I don't owe anybody an explanation, but, still...

I was neck deep in work.

- Ghostwriting for multiple clients

- Studying & prepping for my exams

- Writing my own content

- Handling family issues

- Cleaning up my room (yeah it's a crazy big task!)

BUT do you know what that person said?!!!

"YOU SHOULD READ MY NEWSLETTER, CLICK ON EVERY BLOODY LINK, GIVE ME A 30 PAGE REVIEW, SIGN ME A BLANK CHEQUE SO THAT I CAN TRAVEL TO BALI & THEN YOU SHOULD UNSUBSCRIBE"

Well, not in so many words. I might've exaggerated to drive the point home.

But yeah, that person did mention the words, "read", "review", "unsubscribe".

And the tone? Lol. Screamed that of 'entitlement'.

As if the entire world should respond to that person's email within 10 seconds of it landing in their inbox.

This is not a 'rant newsletter' (okay maybe it is).

But hear me out.

Whenever you're expecting something out of your readers/clients:

- Follow up if necessary but don't be a psychopath

- Respect the other person's time

- Stop being clingy & instead behave like a hooman

- It'll take 2 mins for your client to badmouth you to the world

- It's not your client's responsibility to clean your room for you (metaphorically)

The person I'm talking about? A big hypocrite.

Someone like this:

This is getting long, but, spare me a few more seconds.

I have received 100s of weird DMs & I am sure you have too.

And we slowly turn immune to such things.

But small mistakes compound to create devastating consequences.

Be alert, and yes, considerate.
