Last week's highly anticipated budget was notable for many reasons and still being much debated and analysed. In a historic moment for the UK, the budget was delivered by Rachel Reeves, the first woman to hold the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer in its 800+ year history. This also marked the first Labour budget statement in 15 years.?
Despite the outcome, our recent market research (done prior to the budget) revealed that confidence has arguably already been affected in some sectors, and even within the London property market. Read more here.
It goes without saying that London is THE jewel in the UK's crown, celebrated as one of the world's premier cities and super-prime property markets. Yet this status cannot and should not ever be taken for granted, especially with so many vibrant cities competing for the same investment, talent, and property buyers.
However, with the right policy framework and political leadership, hopefully galvanised by at the very least the new certainty the budget announcement now offers, London can and will continue to shine as the UK's standout destination.
Of course, all eyes now shift to today's US elections and the next MPC meeting. Its never been more important to stay tuned in to political and economic events both here and abroad.
