Host: To start, could you give us an overview of Steamax’s business model and how the company is positioning itself as a leader in renewable energy?

Mr. Mahajan: Thank you for having me. At Steamax, we focus on shifting industries’ heating requirements from fossil fuels to biomass. This involves retrofitting existing boilers to work with biomass and offering contracts for biomass fuel supply. We’ve also introduced an automatic fuel-feeding kit, a game-changer for many industries.

Our R&D team constantly innovates to develop high-performing biofuels. For instance, we’ve developed “Astillas,” a biomass fuel with exceptional calorific value(>4500 kcal/kg) and low ash content(<2%), ensuring high efficiency with optimum performance.

Host: That’s fascinating. What trends are you noticing in adopting biomass, and how is Steamax preparing for these changes?

Mr Mahajan: The transition to biomass is driven by its cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits. While fossil fuels like PNG are widely used due to their high calorific value, biomass offers at least 30% cost savings per 1,000 kcal.

Our research team, led by Dr Gokul Shrinivasan, is actively developing new solutions like the liquid biomass fuel “Alvo,” which is set to launch soon. This will be a groundbreaking addition, as no other company has explored liquid biomass fuels yet.

Host: Steamax recently partnered with the Goa Energy Development Agency(GEDA). Could you share more about this collaboration and its significance?

Mr Mahajan: This partnership is a proud milestone for us. Goa consumes around 15,000 tons of briquettes monthly, and we’re working to support this market. Moreover, this collaboration opens doors to other states like Maharashtra, where we’re already in discussions. We foresee significant growth through these partnerships, expanding our impact on a broader scale.

Host: How many industries is Steamax impacting, and what’s the environmental significance of your work?

Mr. Mahajan: We’re currently aiding several industries, which include pharmaceutical industries, textile industries, food processing industries, chemical industries, etc., in transitioning from fossil fuels to biomass. This shift reduces their carbon footprint and helps them globally leverage carbon credits for global sustainability recognition. We aim to ensure our clients become environmentally responsible while cutting operational costs.
