Exciting updates, amazing turnout at CISO Singapore 2023

Thank you once again to Singapore’s information security industry for a fantastic turnout at CISO Singapore 2023!

The event was a huge success, with high-level presentations, engaging discussions, face-to-face networking and so much more!

One of the key themes across multiple sessions at CISO Singapore was the importance of collaboration and communication – be it with your stakeholders, other departments, or your partners. It is only through two-way communication and collaboration that you can truly showcase the value and protection that cybersecurity can offer to businesses.

The key takeaways from CISO Singapore 2023 are:

·???????Collaboration removes the fear around cybersecurity – get the organisation to see the value in what you do!

·???????Maintaining a healthy working environment and relationship among employees is a critical step in managing insider threat.

·???????Generative AI – seize the opportunities it offers but be careful of unknown risks and keep an eye on the changing landscape.

·???????Demos and drills are critical when preparing for a breaching incident.

·???????User education or enablement could change the mindset of organisations or people who think AI as a threat.

·???????Get the basics right – it is easy to get swept away with innovation and new ideas, but sometimes all that needs tweaking is the basics.

·???????Failure to plan is the plan to fail: Always be prepared for a breach and have your action steps and contacts ready.

·???????Having the right mindset: Continuously upgrade yourself to meet and manage new threats.

·???????The 3Cs in cybersecurity: Communicate, collaborate and coordinate. Getting people to talk to each other can be challenging, but it can also be the solution you need.

·???????Remember the 3Rs: Risk appetite, risk tolerance and risk capacity to make decisions for the business.
