Exciting Update for Anyone Managing MFA and SSPR Migrations in Entra ID!
Microsoft just made the transition to the new Authentication Methods Policies even smoother with an Automated Migration Guide! This guide removes much of the manual work, ensuring a smoother, faster migration process.
The image below shows the Authentication Method Settings Migration page in Microsoft Entra Admin Center. This migration step gives you an overview of each available authentication method, along with its current status, targeted user groups, and associated security level. With this tool, the wizard configures the Authentication Method Policy based on your organization's current legacy MFA and SSPR settings. If a method is already enabled in either legacy policy, the guide recommends enabling it in the Authentication Method Policy as well, allowing users to continue signing in and resetting passwords with the same familiar methods.
Additionally, it’s recommended to enable the latest secure methods, like Passkeys (FIDO2), Temporary Access Pass, and Microsoft Authenticator, to strengthen your organization’s security posture. You can also customize the configuration by selecting the pencil icon next to each method.
