Exciting Times Ahead for Dobbins Inn

The heralding of spring has also bought the news that the historic restoration works at Dobbins Inn have been completed.

The final work see the front fa?ade of the hotel and the roof upgraded in keeping with the historic age of the building. Carbon Dating of the stone work has already dated the origins of Dobbins to approximately 1490.

Manageress Kirsty Fallis commented,

“The restoration sees Dobbins return to its former glory and cement its legacy as another castle in Carrickfergus!”

The announcement of the completion of the restoration works works well as the Proprietors Derek and Maureen Fallis were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Carrickfergus Business Excellence Awards on the 14th March 2019.

The couple who are about to celebrate 41 years at the hotel were honoured to receive the award with Derek commenting,

“It was an unexpected but greatly appreciated award, and in particular we would like to thank the numerous staff that have worked alongside us over the years. We are now also very much looking forward to the future with the same enthusiasm that has stood us so well over the past 40 years.”

Moving into summer the hotel is again looking forward to another busy season welcoming guests from both home and abroad. The finishing touches are currently being put to a fantastic new bar and grill menu and our famous Afternoon Tea will be served every weekend in Landings Restaurant.
