Exciting things ahead for immersive and participatory experiences

I had an incredibly insightful day taking part in day 1 of the Lab Collective's symposium for producers, writers, makers and performers, exploring the challenges our industry faces in the wake of Covid - 19 and beyond. Panelists included Suha Al-Khayyat/Little Fish Theatre, Amie Burns Walker/Great Gatsby and Kat heath/Punch Drunk.

Today focused on emerging back into physical spaces and how we safely negotiate a ' new normal' whilst still providing audiences with the intimacy and connection they are looking for. Although many challenges were discussed, there was also a strong sense of optimism about the presented opportunity this new chapter brings to explore new ways of touching people.

I will write more on this next week but in the meantime, if you love immersive theatre, I highly recommend you add your voice to tomorrows event. This is a chance for audiences to meet the makers and express what measures you would like to see us put in place to keep you safe and the digital experiences you’ve loved during lockdown, with the people who make it all happen. What does the new normal look like to you?: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/reloaded-symposium-meet-the-makers-tickets-112645295110 .tickets-112645295110
