About the Principal

We are pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for sales agents in the UK and Ireland to collaborate with a renowned North American-based company specialising in the design, manufacturing, and application of power resistors. This Principal has been a key player in the industrial sector in the Americas since 2008, with a robust annual turnover of approximately ten million dollars. Their primary offices and manufacturing facility are situated in Mississauga, Canada, and they have a global presence with successful sales ventures in the UK already.

3 Main Product Lines

Braking Resistors: Essential components in braking systems of various machines, these resistors efficiently convert excess braking energy into heat, ensuring quick and safe deceleration while safeguarding motors and associated equipment.

Neutral Grounding (Earthing) Resistors: These resistors, connected between the neutral point of a power system and ground, limit fault currents during ground faults, enhancing system safety and stability.

Load Banks: Used for testing, maintaining, and commissioning power sources, load banks simulate real-world conditions to verify performance, capacity, and stability.

Opportunity Details

  • Number of Agents: Any (Ideally one but could be more). Even better if you’re a company that can represent the Principal and has multiple employees in different places and represents multiple compatible manufacturers.
  • Territory Split: Ideally, one agent for both UK and Ireland; however, multiple agents for different regions or product lines are feasible.
  • Targets: Initially commission-based with no set targets; commissions are reviewed semi-annually (6% commission structure, as per attached agreement).
  • Retention: No retainers will be paid.
  • Priority Territories: All territories are open for coverage; no specific priority set.
  • Management: The Sales Manager will oversee agent relations, with final interview and selection stages also managed by the Sales Manager.

Ideal Agent Profile

  • Represents 5-10 manufacturers of industrial electrical equipment.
  • Main customers include Transformer and Generator Manufacturers, Switchgear Manufacturers, Electrical Systems Integrators, and Construction Companies.

Timeline

Immediate appointment desired.

Support and Training

  • Training via teleconference will be provided.
  • Online resources include configuration and selection tools.
  • Marketing support includes a website, brochures, and participation in industry conferences like PEMD (organised by the IET at Nottingham University) where the Principal will be having a booth.
