ESG are seeking an experienced HSQE Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.

This candidate will initially be based on one major project location where we are Principal Contractor, delivering a major upgrade and extension to a live Data Centre Campus. The project includes MEP infrastructure works, data hall fit outs along with a full CSA package. As such this person will have regular exposure to the Client who is the UK’s leading Data Centre operator.?

The HSQE Manager will be responsible for the continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards on projects in addition to:

?

  • HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans
  • Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards
  • Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
  • Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports
  • Liaising with Clients
  • Assist the site team in the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and associated documentation and records
  • Preparation and delivery of site toolbox talks
  • Daily/weekly reporting to the Business, project management staff and client
  • Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes
  • Provide HSQE advice and direction to staff and contractors, liaising with Site Personnel
  • Compilation of Safety Files and O&M Manuals.


The role will develop further over time to cover numerous projects as part of our Group-wide SHEQ Department.

Essential Job Requirements and Competencies Profile

  • Hold a recognised HSQE qualification of a minimum Nebosh National Certificate in Construction.
  • Minimum of 3 years HSQE experience in the construction industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills.
  • Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car for remote sites.
