As our scholarship fund has grown, due to the great support of all of you, we have had so many special moments. This is a really big one!
I never could have accomplished all of this without a lot of help from several people in Dago. None of them were ever paid or reimbursed for expenses, except for a little cash I gave them a couple of times. To support the current growth, and to help us get to the big goals we have set for the future, I needed a full time person working for us in Dago.
Last June when Bunny and I were in Dago, we were honored to spend a lot of time with a wonderful young man named Ernest. He had just graduated from University to become a teacher. About a month ago we convinced him to come to work for us!
We call him our Mentor/Coordinator. He has a a long list of tasks we have asked him to do in this job, but one of the main ones is to personally visit each of our students once per term (3 terms per year).
Just a few days ago he made his first visit. He went to see Christine Akoth at Alliance Girls High School. I am attaching some pics he took and a file of Christine talking to us. The pics include Christine, Ernest is the handsome young man, Christine's father and a teacher at the school.
I have included one of the pics Ernest sent of Christine.
We have made a lot of progress together and we will make a lot more. Together we are making the world a better place, one child at a time!
Asante Sana,
