Maple Finance has launched Syrup, a new DeFi protocol that allows users to lend USDC to institutions without permission. By depositing USDC, users earn yields and receive syrupUSDC LP tokens, funding secured loans to major crypto institutions. This innovative protocol democratizes institutional private credit, offering yield opportunities previously unavailable.

Users can lock their stablecoins for up to six months to receive boosted rewards, targeting up to 15% annually. With the launch of Syrup, Maple will replace the MPL token with the new SYRUP token, available on a one-for-one basis starting in Q4. Syrup focuses on broader institutional access to high-quality leads, using collateral like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRTs).
