Exciting insights at Data Architecture Singapore 2023

We had an amazing turnout for the inaugural Data Architecture Singapore 2023!

A big thank you to Singapore’s data architecture community for a fantastic turnout, insightful questions and engaging discussions.

We had a fun and lively data-driven day, with excellent insights from the esteemed speaking panel, thoughtful questions from the audience, and an amazing time catching up with everyone!

The key themes from Data Architecture Singapore 2023 were modernise, delivery, lead, scale, and network.

The key takeaways from Data Architecture Singapore 2023 were:

• Data monetisation is how do you convert data to dollars, if you convert data into a financial value, the financial value that data can create.
• Talk the business language, without the word data! Overcommunication is better than under-communication, make them feel involved in the project.
• Embrace the future of AI data management.
• Focus early on how to create broad value: do not stop at some metadata sitting in your catalogue.

We opened with an action-packed morning of valuable insights from senior data leaders, including Sachin Tonk , Sandeep Mehta and Florent Juglair .

Topics included Augmenting data management with AI, Guardrails for the generative AI applications and Reducing time-to-data and enabling governance at scale with active metadata, respectively.

After the morning break, we had an exciting panel discussion featuring expert speakers Ramya P. , Soumyajit Sarcar , @Hou Kiat Chao and the panel moderator Vinol Joy D'souza .

The panel gave an engaging talk on how organisations can ensure that data architecture is truly aligned with business outcomes.

Wrapping up the morning, we had great presentations by 方俊强 Robin on ‘Accelerating Digital Innovation with a Logical Data Strategy’ and Balamurugan Jegatheesan on ‘Generative AI architecture for Enterprise’.

Post-lunch, we kicked off the afternoon sessions with an interesting presentation on ‘Data governance and migration to modern data architecture from legacy’ by Budi D.

Following on, we had a double act, an exciting presentation by Nas Radev and Michael Han titled 'Optimise for Value Creation: How to use data architecture and automation to supercharge your organisation’.

Aligning data governance with data architecture was the talk of the town, with a senior level panel featuring Florent Juglair , Sachin Tonk , Eddie Lim , and panel moderator Paulson Thomas .

Following the panel, we had two insightful talks by Adhinarayan Nammalvar and Ramya P. on the topics ‘Data conduct considerations in data integration’ and ‘Getting your executive level to accept the business importance of a data strategy’.

The presentation sessions concluded with an excellent talk by Paulson Thomas on the topic ‘Navigating the data deluge: Harnessing business potential amid escalating costs’.

We wrapped up event with an intimate Group Discussion with our moderators Ajit K and Eduard Anthony Chai .

Ajit’s group discussed the topic ‘Building data privacy and data trust by design’ and Eduard’s group discussed the topic ‘Implications of prioritizing velocity & growth over implementing a robust data governance framework early’.

We had so much fun at Data Architecture Singapore 2023 with meaningful discussions and insights-driven content showing us what data leaders have been doing with data architecture in Singapore.
