Exciting Developments: Alstom and Siemens Shortlisted for California High-Speed Train Project ??

In a significant move forward for the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), industry giants 阿尔斯通运输 and 西门子 have been shortlisted as potential manufacturers for the state's ambitious high-speed train project connecting Los Angeles to San Francisco.

This decision comes on the heels of the U.S. Department of Transportation 's allocation of $3.1 billion in federal funding from the Biden Administration's Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, signaling a strong commitment to advancing modern transportation infrastructure.

California High-Speed Rail Authority CEO Brian Kelly expressed enthusiasm about the selection, stating, "These esteemed vendors guarantee that we secure cutting-edge high-speed trains. With the recent federal grant, we're poised to take a significant stride forward in transforming the passenger rail experience in California, offering speeds exceeding 220 mph."

Anticipating a forthcoming request for proposals, CHSRA aims to finalize the contract, partly funded by the DOT grant, later this year. The chosen manufacturer will not only provide the trainsets but also oversee their maintenance for an impressive 30-year period, along with supplying a driving simulator and managing the associated equipment maintenance.

This milestone in California's transportation evolution is further underscored by the $3 billion grant allocated to the Brightline West Trains project, set to establish a high-speed rail link between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
