Turmeric, a natural acid-base indicator, changes colour depending on its environment. In this activity, Learners discovered that turmeric turns red when it comes in contact with a basic substance like soap solution.
?The Creative Process
The process of creating Turmeric Paper Art was simple and fascinating, blending hands-on learning with artistic flair.
Learners began by preparing their own Turmeric Paper. Using A4 sheets, they coated the surface with a smooth layer of turmeric paste, transforming ordinary paper into a canvas with scientific curiosity. Once their turmeric paper was ready, the real magic began.
Equipped with paint brushes dipped in soap solution, the Learners explored the interaction of turmeric—a natural acid-base indicator—with a basic substance. As the soap solution touched the turmeric paper, vibrant shades of red emerged, bringing their creations to life.
Their imaginations soared as they painted breathtaking sceneries, flower vases, rockets, and celestial planets. Some ventured into the world of robotics, crafting intricate robots, while others created a stunning portrait of Nikola Tesla.
