Exciting changes and growth at BCG, including our new logo?
I'm feeling energized.
I am just returning from Barcelona where we had a fantastic global partner meeting, five global practice area meetings, and tons of other activities. Over the course of the week, we elected a cohort of over 100 new BCG Partner & Managing Directors who will bring us to 1,200+ in total; we announced that the end of 2018 will conclude another outstanding year for us, building on our five-year stretch of 15%+ growth; and we discussed how we are continuing to build leading-edge capabilities in our practices and how DigitalBCG is now well over 4,000 people. There were many client stories shared about our growing capabilities and the impact we can deliver, showing once again how we can unlock the potential of those who advance the world.
As a capstone to the enormous changes we have been pursuing, we are changing our logo. I hope you are as energized by this as I am. It is a simple, bold, connected representation of what BCG stands for and I am confident it will serve us well in the years ahead. To me, our new logo reflects our evolution as a firm and the bold approach we bring to our work. It is a defining symbol of who we are and what we can do, as well as a powerful reminder of where we’ve been and where we’re going. It also embodies the transformative value we deliver through our work and ideas, as well as our continuing heritage of restless innovation. Lastly, we are dropping “The” from our name. We no longer need it to convey that we are a distinguished firm, and the simplification makes our name more consistent with the diversity of our people and the inclusive culture and values that have always been at the heart of BCG.
But as much as I love our new logo, I love how we have changed our look even more. We are embracing diversity in all we do because we are at our best when all voices and capabilities are represented – diversity of skills as evidenced both in our core and newer businesses like BCG Digital Ventures, GAMMA, Platinion, and BrightHouse – as well as diversity in our people, strengthening our women, LGBTQ, and ethnic ranks around the world and at all levels. We have written extensively about how diversity drives innovation, and we are focused on making it real for BCG.
Below is my favorite picture from last week with many of the women global leaders of BCG and our new logo (super-sized!). We have a lot more work to do, but we are making tangible progress to build a cutting-edge BCG that is uniquely able to help our clients win in a rapidly changing world and be the best place in the world for top talent.
