?? Excited to Share My Latest First-Author Publication! ??

I'm thrilled to announce the publication of our research in Soft Matter titled: "Roles of aqueous nonsolvents influencing the dynamic stability of poly-(n-butyl methacrylate) thin films at biologically relevant temperatures."

In this study, we investigated how aqueous environments like water and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) impact the stability of poly-(n-butyl methacrylate) (PnBMA) thin films.

Key findings:

?? PnBMA thin films exhibit reduced stability after incubation in aqueous nonsolvents, with water causing greater destabilization than PBS.

??? Incubation-induced plasticization significantly decreases the modulus and viscosity of the films, making them more susceptible to dewetting.

?? A complex interplay of surface energy alterations, polar interactions, and mechanical property changes drives the observed instability.

This research provides valuable insights into the stability of polymer films in biologically relevant conditions, with implications for their use in medical and soft material applications.
