The Symposium is set to open with an actor, musician, former schoolteacher, Poetry Slam champion, entrepreneur and disruptor - Sekou Andrews. Sekou’s talents and experiences have merged uniquely to where he found himself disrupting the world of both poetry and spoken world by creating an entirely new speaking category – Poetic Voice. Poetic Voice is an artform that uses spoken word poetry to deliver inspirational messaging in a deeply impactful way. His inspiring artform quickly gained traction and afforded him the opportunity to perform for such prominent individuals as Corretta Scott King and family, Quincy Jones and Maya Angelou.
