When Dhritrashtra inquired of Vidur about the limitations of human longevity and why most individuals do not reach the age of 100 years, Vidur responded, stating that an abundance of ego, excessive talk, a dearth of self-sacrifice, unbridled anger, self-serving pursuits, and the betrayal of friends are six potent daggers that ultimately undermine human existence, rather than the mere inevitability of death itself.

When a malevolent king holds a gathering with his subjects to seek counsel, it is advisable not to directly oppose him or voice dissent. It is wiser to gracefully excuse oneself from the gathering.

A person who practices moderation in eating acquires six virtues: good health, longevity, enhanced physical strength, and increased happiness. Additionally, their offspring tend to be blessed with natural beauty, and they are spared from being mockingly labeled as a glutton.
