Get your popcorn ready, grab a seat and settle in for the beautiful Theresa Russell and People's Sexiest Man Alive of 1986, the always-striking Mark Harmon. And… maybe watch this one with a friend, because it's sort of a religious horror movie too. I've watched plenty of horror movies, and none of them really scared me until I saw The?Severed Arm ?(filmed in 1973, seen by me perhaps 8 years later--I stayed up all night in fear after watching that one), and then the monster of all horror movies, John Carpenter's?Prince of Darkness? (the scariest movie of all time IMHO and, as canny Sound Viewer’s will note, Alice Cooper's best film performance). Prince of Darkness had horror and a degree of science fiction, but the scariest part of the film came from religion. Who can explain the wonderful and terrible events of a force infinitely greater than us mere mortals?
Cold Heaven (1997) could have been better-titled as Cold Hell, for that's what our protagonist Marie Davenport (Russell) goes through in trying to untangle the mess she's put herself in by being married to Alex Davenport...
