My First excerpt : Impact of Saturn in the Twelve Houses

The Saturn is a mighty planet, and as generally termed malefic but actually is not so. It raises the native to dizzy heights. Generally public at large is allergic to the name of Saturn. It is one of the best friend of mankind. If Saturn would not have been involved in the scheme of things, life would not have acquired that sophisticated touch which is now evident. Saturn does the work of culturing, and makes the man perfect due to his hard experiences through odds, obstacles and turmoil. Represents emotions at all levels. Saturn is not a malefic, as it is generally thought to be, it is friend of those who want perfection in life. It represents love of perfection and self-discipline at the cost of luxurious life. Poverty is self-invited because it will help to overcome pride, arrogance and basic instincts of life. Saturn is a hard task master. When one does not follow the directions of Saturn, it whips sternly and so is called malefic by the people, but why not? People should take it in a good spirit.

Saturn is a Friend, Not Foe. Saturn when dignified or well aspected and placed well indicates prudence, contemplation, cautious, responsible, precise, persistent, persevering, industrious, provident, patient, economical, reserved, serious, resolute, considerate, mathematical, temperate, chaste and executive. But when Saturn is debilitated, misplaced, combust or afflicted indicates skeptical, melancholy, deceitful, incompetent, exacting, avaricious, perverse, indifferent, laborious, impotent, repining, acquisitive, suspicious, fearful, slow, callous, lewd, pessimist and unreliable. In view of the above traits of foregoing discussion, we now delineate Saturn's effects in all the twelve houses of birth chart.

1. SATURN IN 1ST HOUSE: Saturn if well placed in 1st house or Ascendant indicates royal qualities, power, position, of regular habits, diplomatic, ingenious, independent thinker, of practical nature, able, intellectual, likely to rise in later life. Far reaching schemes and becomes pioneer in some sort of enterprise to the benefit of the general public or nation.

If in exaltation, Sagittarius or Pisces, the native is good looking, learned, regular in habits, head of institution or department etc., equal to a king. Same results are indicated if posited in Capricorn or Aquarius. One is mature, wise and renowned. Affluent, patrimony. If it is in sign of the 4th, 10th or 9th lords, it is a Raja yoga karaka. If Saturn is well posited by sign and aspect, the native is contemplative and considerate, discrete, prudent, systematic, diligent, frugal, intimate, and attentive. Quite, sincere and serious. Loves merit. Thoughtful, growth and success is sure but slow. Afflicted Saturn indicates troubles, sickness in the body parts ruled by the sign, it is posited in it. Temperamentally this native is subtle, acquisitive, penetrative, careful, secretive, and sometimes gloomy and discontented. Loss through sickness, misfortune and delays, generally these native are deficient in phosphate and calcium. Given to nervousness, timidity and difficulties in youth, baldness from middle age. The native with Saturn in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces prefers service and get promotion after pursuing with the seniors. Fortune smiles by retirement time. Authoritative. In Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn or Aquarius indicates success in service in Government or in big concerns. Troubles through family and strife with the partner. Two marriages. Sensual, ailing partner, early death of parents. Longevity to parents, if in Libra. If afflicted by Venus, marriage is denied or partner fails to survive, troubles through business, wealth and son do not go together. If afflicted by Mars, sudden death or imprisonment. If conjoins Moon, wicked and depraved. Good nature if in Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. If in Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius and Taurus, one is selfish.

2. SATURN IN 2ND HOUSE-: Maximum labour and minimum wages, uphill struggle, fond of drinking, thrifty nature and stammering (if Mercury is afflicted). Wealth at latter stage, with vehicles and pleasures. One is devoted to his mother, no happiness from brothers. Saturn in 2nd house denotes that one will find all pleasures and happiness in foreign lands. Leaves the family alone. Unpleasant and discordant with friends. Such persons use every method to achieve object. Native is wealthy, loss through wrath of the Govt. Saturn in any sign other than its exaltation, one is sensual, and suffers from it, forsaken by own family members. In later life, will settle abroad, gain through royal favour. If aspected by a friend, or benefic or such association, native is religious, kind, honest, and truth loving. Saturn in 2nd, native marries twice. Eye troubles, if associates a malefic, one cheats women. Afflicted Saturn, indicates an unprofitable uphill struggle. Blunt to opportunities. In Aries, Gemini, Leo and Capricorn, Patrimony and two marriages are indicated. Wealth and honor,. Absence of accumulation of wealth. Investment on land or house property. Success through soft and sweet speech. Gain through societies and trouble through partner. If in Libra, gain through ladies, soft and sweet speech. Gain of property through them. Favorite of opposite sex and gaining finance through their associations or societies even WILL of some ladies will be to your gain. On the domestic side, late marriage, may cause two marriages. (Subject to other checks). May be progeny denied. Money lending and cheating through fraud. Interest in social and public work (TESTED). Saturn in Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces is not very favorable. In Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, denies patrimony. One earns by sweat of his brow. Single marriage unfriendly to own family members. Indifferent. Interest in public and social work. Stubborn. Saturn in Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, one gains toward North direction from place of his birth. If in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn from West direction. If in Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces from East and if in Libra, Gemini and Aquarius gain from South direction. Conjunction with Moon, thinking becomes of philosophical nature. In short, Saturn in 2nd house indicates gain by labour, land, building, farming, heavy trading, minerals, transport, public appointments, investments, speculation and responsibility and method.

3. SATURN IN 3RD HOUSE: Increase in income, gain of wealth, victory over enemies, success in litigation, diplomatic, concentration, very cautious, intelligent and valorous, less peace of mind, happiness from wife, abortions, troubles and loss through journeys and writings. Disagreement with relations and younger brother. Break in education, native's health remain afflicted. Many obstacles before any success. Generous, sharp, Government honor, magnanimous, sometime absence of brothers, abstinent. Meritorious, Jovial, conveyances. Gain through social work, association with menials, popular among women, may be one is a wrestler. If Strong by aspect or by position denotes tact, responsibilities, diplomacy, power to contemplate, logical, rational, wealthy, gain and promotion to brothers, interest in philosophy, studies and writings. If afflicted much discord and strife with everybody. Given to hypocrisy and treachery, deceitful fits of passions, perverted, want of culture, dishonest tendencies, despondent. Much disappointments and troubles, annoyance, loss and delay in education, travelling and changes. Early life is full of struggle and gloomy, acquisitiveness, anxiety, restlessness and misguided. Saturn in Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces is favorable. If in Virgo or Libra indicates financial losses after marriage. Industry, ability and thoughtful. Of Cancer, troubles for parents and much travelling. Native is greedy, cruel and wicked if in Scorpio and Pisces. Good for longevity, mental control, steady thinking, concentration and orderly living. If in Feminine signs, coldness to brothers, separation between brothers and dispute over financial affairs. Children late in life. Good education and self-confidence. If in Masculine signs, inimical to brothers and sisters, in early age children, a few fail to survive.

4. SATURN IN 4TH HOUSE: It makes the native a good thinker, success in foreign land, licentious, interrupted education, property, political disfavor and no gain from ancestral property. One is devoid of family happiness but respected outside home. If well placed and strong, the native becomes prosperous, and is blessed with conveyance. In own house, ambitions are fulfilled at the end of life. Loss of mother, good nature but his company will not be good. Gain through enemies. 5. SATURN IN 5TH HOUSE : In female chart, it indicates attraction and attachment to an elderly man or widower, or to one of religious nature. Loss of child or much happiness through progeny. Many breaks in love affairs. If Saturn is in own or exalted sign or aspected by benefic indicates good results of this house, one is wise, of philosophical thinking, industrious, and blessed with sons who are noble. Favorable for speculation or gambling. Gain through mines and property and things governed by Saturn. Generally not a happy position. Indicates one may suffer shortage of son, or premature death or abortions or still births or may adopt a son. Disappointments in love affairs as house indicates lady love. One has an evil bent of mind. Loss through speculation or gambling, disfavor from Govt. or person in power and authority. Loss in criminal prosecution. Saturn in Scorpio may cause deaths by drowning. In Leo heart trouble, avoid animals if on a pleasure trip. Generally Saturn gives unfavorable results in Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius but favorable in other signs. Of Aries, and Leo will give full education. Expertise in steel and minerals. Of Sagittarius, gives incomplete education. The native is sanguine by nature, creative, suspicious and hypocrite. Late Marriage, children are denied or fail to survive, of Cancer, Scorpio and Capricorn, a large number of children with little age difference Influential of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn is artless and plain not curious and-minds his own business. In Gemini, Libra or Aquarius, Success by self-efforts and success after a lot of hindrances, delay and disappointments through a hard labor. Afflicted Saturn denotes absence of progeny; or in old age or absence of their progress and natural affection for them. If lord of 5th house is in Navamsa of Saturn. Jupiter, Venus in own signs, there is a yoga for legitimate son after the adoption of one.

6. SATURN IN 6TH HOUSE : If strong, victory over enemies. One becomes adamant, suffers at the hands of enemies. Increase in income, popular, great authority, loss through poultry and animals, labor trouble, fastitatious in tastes, deceitful, servants, and loss through them, over sexed, good digestive power, liability to suffer from ulcer, wounds and winds, Saturn being a malefic in 6th house is considered auspicious. It indicates, native is clever, active and courageous. If well aspected, the native may gain in contract work, mining etc. Great financial or political success, nominal efforts are needed if in own sign or any other sign favorable to him. Generous, prosperous but not without some trouble. Blessed with sons. Respect for learned. Sensual and many attendants or followers. One is of robust in health, healthy, fortunate, conveyance, royal favour, wife and lucky sons. Saturn is favorable in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces. If afflicted, or in enemy's house, or in debilitation signs indicates annihilation or native's own family. Obstinate, diseased, clever, indebted, one is denied progeny, a good writer and disappointments. Incurable diseases like rheumatic if afflicted by lumaries and sign indicated where Saturn posited. 7. SATURN IN 7TH HOUSE : In 7th house, Saturn gets digbala and being in Kendra also becomes powerful. It makes one ambitious, diplomate, enterprising, lot of travelling and gain through foreign countries, honor and reputation. If very powerful, the native may hold a position of prominence in life and has a successful political career. It indicates late marriage with a steady, faithful, industrious, careful, thrifty and practical partner, or older to the native, sober and wealthy. Afflicted Saturn will cause much sorrows and grief in the married life, with death or indifference. Loss of wealth through contracts, partnership, opponents, litigation, business, enemies and treachery. Marriage above or after 28th years of age. The partner may not be like minded. One is debauchee. If conjoins Mars, wife is very sexy, if with Venus, fond of opposite sex. Such persons are attached to despicable women. Unhappy and deceitful. Gain by marriage, or through business or legacy. Contact with low caste women. One lives in foreign land. If Sun conjoins Saturn, one is vicious, wounded and unfortunate. Discontented, poor health and much disappointments. Saturn when afflicted by conjunction, sign or aspects indicates one suffers loss of wealth, sudden separation from own people, or perverse mind, struggles, corpulent, drunkard, fond of women, clever, impious, difficulties after marriage, loss of legacy and lingering death. Obstacles, enemies, victim of other's mischiefs, opposition from friends. Lingering disease, criminal actions, danger of drowning, black marketer and secret activities. Disliking from parents and one remains discontented. Fatal accident if aspected by Mars. In Aries, Leo, Libra, Scorpio or Capricorn, one meets with disappointments, sorrows through occupation, money or progeny. In Cancer, grants wealth and progeny. Of Sagittarius causes misfortunes after marriage. In Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius or Capricorn grants independent business, in other signs service. A good start of life makes a bad end or vice versa under its influence. In Aries, Leo, Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn and Libra it denotes longevity, a noble wife and fortune after marriage. This "position is not good but keeps the native alert like the last breath, gets promotions especially if 4th or 5th house is occupied by malefic. 9. SATURN IN 9TH HOUSE : Legal success, founder of charitable institution, thrifty in domestic life, scientist, logical, ceremonial minded, unfaithful, detached, meditative, occult subjects, unpleasant domestic life, irreligious. If Saturn is strong, the native is wealthy, happiness from sons, charitable and philosophical bent of mind, ready to perform pilgrimage to control sensuality. Pure mind and straight forward. Detached from worldly affairs and turns to yogic exercises to attain salvation in old age. The native is prosperous, soft, happy and generous, blessed with sons, weak and perverse. The native gets power and authority, maintains achieves longevity to father. If afflicted, Saturn indicates troubles in foreign lands, vicious, unfortunates, absence of children and parents, reflective, subjugates the enemy. Cruel and debauchee. Trouble creator. Imprisonment to friends, conceited, passionate, sick, cheat, sensual, and loss-of power. Unfortunate but religious. If this Saturn is exalted, or well aspected, in own sign, the native performs LORD SHIVA'S vajna, victor, possessing power and authority, conveyance and longevity to father. Also if afflicted indicates unfavourable for voyages, travel and foreign affairs. By Mars, madness or serious mental problems, un awakened mind, betrays every shade of stupidity. Religious bigotry, loss through litigation, relatives and by marriage. Slow to apprehend and over confident. If Saturn is well aspected in Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius or Gemini, the native has a scientific and philosophical bend of mind. By nature studious, meditative, and investigating all that is hidden with in the womb of earth and above it. Interest in Astrology, geology, archaeology, mineralogy and metaphysics. A religious devoted spirit. Saturn is favourable if in Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces indicates good fortune in 36th years. If in Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, It is favorable for teachers and lawyers. Sometimes good for the independent business. Good for younger brothers.

10. SATURN IN 10TH HOUSE: The native is a self-made. Gain and success through all means. Rise in life, speedy promotions, it elevates the native, politicians, cinema and actors etc. to the highest position but throws to them down to depth if in anyway influenced by strong malefic. One may be denied patrimony. During its dasa period, if strong' indicates a royal status, always happy, noble, honored and affectionate. Wise and wealthy. Interested in agriculture and gain from Saturn articles. Minister, gallant, and reputed. Discriminative and intelligent. Affectionate and loyal attendants, maintains status in foreign country. Fearless and proud. One is ambitious and has lust for material and worldly gains. Perseverance and industry is key to his success. If afflicted, Saturn indicates adversity after success. Absence of opportunity. Financial set back, dishonour, defeat in popular support, Affliction from Mercury. Menial jobs. Favourable Mercury indicates Govt. official, managers, lawyer, scientists, geologist, etc. separations from parents, changes in vocations. Afflicted Saturn indicates financial ruin in business or profession, sudden reversals and downfall. Loss of parents in early life, unhappiness to mother, chance to visit holy places, one may become head of religious institution and becomes sanyasi. Father and son cannot progress under same roof. Saturn cannot bestows good results merely by being in 10th house unless, it is yoga karaka or ascendant lord or lord of trine or angular house. It should be aspected by benefic planets like good Jupiter etc. Saturn in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces gives favourable results. In other signs, it is unfavourable. In former signs, native can be a judge, advocate, troubles through family, sensual, reputed as sexologist

11. SATURN IN 11TH HOUSE: Saturn is 11th house bestows good results. It indicates native is wealthy, learned, respected, and has much landed property, conveyance, political respect and success, influential, hopes are generally fulfilled. Long life, commands authority, success in income, courageous, in trade or commerce, false and deceitful friends. This position is adverse in respect of happiness from brothers, sons, wife or husband. The native may have many daughters and a few sons or no son ("TESTED). Saturn too indicates that native is firm and constant in respect of wealth, health and mind. Reputed, soft and sweet, thin and lean and is contented. Wealth through Govt. contemplative and fortunate. Danger from fire, learned in all sciences, honoured but immodest. A family man. Learned and hard worker. The Saturn denotes wealth, obstacles, land and recognition through the Govt. If it is in Libra, Capricorn or Aquarius, the native is learned, fortunate and with conveyance. Well aspected and posited Saturn in this house promises wealth and prosperity in the latter half of life. Few sincere and faithful friends. Afflicted Saturn indicates troubles and losses through friends. Loss through surety or advances. Affliction through Moon, Sun or Mars denotes worried mind, accidents, loss of money, power and authority. If in Cardinal signs, ruin through acquaintances. A fixed sign indicates delay and obstacles. In common signs, unsuccessful in ambitions. Unfavorable for marriage, relatives and superiors. 12. SATURN IN 12TH HOUSE: This position is not good for worldly affairs but good for religious life. It indicates secret enemies who work steady for the native's downfall. One is learned in occult sciences, spend thrift, dexterous and unpopular, danger of imprisonment, downfall, accidents, injury and disappointments in love. Saturn is favourable, if posited in Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Pisces, the native becomes a lawyer, barrister or politician, same are the effects for Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn or Aquarius. Saturn in Gemini, Scorpio or Aquarius indicates a revolutionary nature.
