An Excerpt on the Orthodox Fundamentalism from the book "Political Orthodoxies"
The common feature of all antimodernist/fundamentalist programs in every Christian confession is that to achieve their goals, they use political instruments. Ian Lustick’s definition of fundamentalism in this regard makes much sense. Fundamentalism, for him, is “a style of political participation characterized by unusually close and direct links between one’s fundamental beliefs and political behavior designed to effect radical change.” When anti-modernists have an opportunity, they apply direct political action. This action can be violent, and anti-modernists then may become terrorists.
