Exceptional Experience? It's all about communications.
An exciting, interactive, thought-provoking and downright fun new learning tool just rolled out at Beacon Health System. “Be a Beacon” is an interactive learning experience that will help associates move from being focused on the task, to being focused on the moment. It was designed because many satisfaction scores are positively correlated to the the topic of effective, sincere and relevant communication. If we can improve communications, we can improve the experience.
Thanks to Deb Raybold, Beacon's resident brain science expert, nursing officers Bev Teegarden and Karra Haggen for their vision in the patient centered and relationship care space, and Lori Allen and Dawn McCaskill for their amazing work to bring this life. Our vendor partner is Mindset Digital out of Columbus…their expertise on learning and their technology for delivering and tracking the learning environment is just shy of fabulous.
So, what exactly is "Be A Beacon?" This online learning environment is being deployed to all 7000 Beacon associates in 2015. After all, as our CEO Phil Newbold says,“Fundamentally, every Beacon associate contributes to the patient care experience.”
Associates access six fast-paced courses designed to capture attention quickly and equip them with important keys that will get them in play and on the stage of exceptional experience. Available through any computer, tablet or mobile device, learners can access the learning environment anywhere, anytime. And best of all, each of the six courses take about 15 minutes to complete.
