Excellence from my Perspective

My goals from an excellence perspective has always been to form an unparalleled capability to drive major transformation, followed by a transition to exceptional day-to-day management, all the while driving continuous improvement and looking to what’s next.
One of my strengths has always been fast execution however it demands several things.
First, it demands that you don’t try to sell your vision. The buy-in will come when they become engaged and involved in the execution. Sure, there will always be the need to manage change, but it will be significantly less challenging when you drive greater engagement.
Second, it demands that you anticipate the challenges while developing your strategy. I have seen too many times how strategies are built by those who will not be executing it, it seems crazy but it happens often. Strategy must be built by those executing them to ensure a successful sustainable product.
Third, it demands a nimble, reactive problem solving capability. The quicker and resolute you are when a challenge arises the swifter you will take well thought-out action with a timely execution.
With that said, it’s extremely important to ensure everyone is involved and engaged in the execution. Increasing engagement levels, ensuring strategy is executable and then executing successfully—these are all driven by investing in yourself (Schooling, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Mentorship, etc.
Simply, at the end of the day we need to ensure we execute an action oriented, sustainable plan Together!
