Hello! My name is Rakan Awali, and I am currently studying the Bachelor in Culinary Arts at the brand new Paris campus of Ecole Ducasse.? My first year was really amazing; as soon as I stepped in the school, it felt like I belong there, from learning to meeting new people everything just made sense. I am so excited to go back for my second year where I can learn even more and meet my friends that I made from all over the world.

As for the students life after the classes they were very fulfilling ,going out with friends, discovering fantastic restaurants and many other places, and meeting a lot of new people from different cultures.

Culinary school is an exciting opportunity for students to get exposed to new techniques and ideas in the world of food. But when the classwork ends, it is time to roll up your sleeves and put all those new skills to work.

My internship at Ida restaurant was very eye opening for me, it gave me the chance to test my new knowledge in a working kitchen, whether that’s in a restaurant, hotel, resort, or convention center. You learn what a chef truly is and the disciplined reality of a chef’s life. And this is what made it a fruitful and rich experience for; I will forever cherish the experience and memories that I have created there.

After graduation, the ultimate goal for me is to open a restaurant were I can fully express myself through the food and design from A to Z!
