Guideline #13: Keep Formulas Close to their Input

In Guideline no. 4 we talked about separating input and output as much as possible. Guideline no. 3 was about “Calculate only once”. Both rules have to do with today’s rule: place formulas as close as possible to their input variables. You have a lower chance of mistakes, you make optimal use of Excel’s support, and your spreadsheet becomes easier to carry over to someone else. Read more.
