There are several ways to search in Excel. The VLOOKUP and the combination of INDEX and MATCH are well known. 7 年I agree, INDEX and MATCH is far superior to VLOOKUP, both in terms of flexibility and performance. This is especially true when working with big data sets. I am amazed to see job posts listing VLOOKUP as one of main skills criteria. Anyone hiring for a role where ability to search data in Excel is so crucial it is listed as a main criteria most likely need more than VLOOKUP and perhaps even INDEX MATCH. With very big data sets and many calculations, INDEX MATCH can get sluggish and using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) or M (Power Query) will be much more efficient.
