Examples of Pet Brands on Shopify & Shopify Plus

The global pet market in 2024 is worth $246 billion.

Whether you're wanting to migrate your own pet store to Shopify or looking to improve an existing site - these pet stores can spark ideas and show what's possible.

  1. Native Pet
  2. Luna & Me
  3. Percy Products

1. Native Pet

Overview: Makers of high quality dog supplements

What Stands Out: Led by strong branding - Native Pet’s website is an example of a Shopify store designed with plenty of helpful features for the customer.

They use Shopify's integrations with apps like Gorgias to handle their customer service management, and Wonderment to track deliveries and manage the customer's experience post-purchase (an important touchpoint for building customer loyalty).

We like how the use of upselling at Native Pet's checkout is implemented in a way that feels helpful, not forceful. There's also plenty of great user generated content (UGC) used throughout Native Pet's store which we're a fan of (we wrote a helpful guide on using UGC as an e-commerce conversion strategy).

3. Luna & Me

Overview: Makers of high quality raw pet food for cats and dogs.

What Stands Out:? Luna & Me have amassed plenty of social proof to use on their Shopify website.

42% of dog and cat owners choose to spend more for premium pet food and Luna & Me go above and beyond to communicate just how much customers love the premium quality of their products.

Their 'True Stories' page features real customers telling stories of the impact of the products has on their pet's health and happiness. This kind of explicit, authentic content is a powerful testament to the quality of Luna & Me's products. It's also great for endearing new, potential customers.

Luna & Me also have not one, but two dedicated reviews pages, teeming with positive feedback. For search engines, this kind of aggregation of positive reviews signals a trustworthy and reputable site, which can contribute positively to search rankings.

The approach they take to gathering customer validation is something every e-commerce pet site should aspire to.

2. Percy Products

Overview: A UK-based online superstore specialising in pet and equestrian products.

What Stands Out: The main navigation bar on Percy Product’s website is well-organised, dropping down from general to specific, making it super easy for users to find exactly what they are looking for.

Looking at their homepage, Percy Products also have plenty of elements that are visually digestible. This can be seen in the "Shop By Pet" section which includes colourful, circular icons representing different pet categories, each with a high-quality image of an animal. These icons? serve as a quick, intuitive guide for shoppers to navigate directly to the products that suit their specific pet needs. The clear, bold fonts beneath each icon ensure legibility and accessibility for any shoppers who use a screen reader.?

It's also interesting to see that Percy Product's have decided to make use of (what we think seems to be) AI-generated images of animals on their Shopify storefront (seen above, with the image of the puppy bounding through the leaves).

4. Bunch

Overview: Offering dog treats, flossers, toys, beds, and more.

What Stands Out: The product pages on Bunch are structured in a way that makes it super easy for customers to scan and absorb key information.

For example, they have used a very concise list of bullet points to highlight the key attributes of a product. Then, if you scroll a bit further down, Bunch also have a tab with more detailed product information. This format caters to customers who want a quick overview at the top and more in-depth details for those interested in learning more.

You can also see that reviews are prominently displayed on their product pages - integrated into their Shopify site using Judge.me - a useful, reassuring sign for potential buyers.

5. Planet Pet Society

Overview: Sustainable dog and cat food

What Stands Out: About 40% of pet owners buy their pet food and treats online. Planet Pet Society are a pet food brand trying to make this more sustainable.

What we like about their Shopify site is how it's a mix of straightforward information, visual appeal, and thoughtful layout.

They use breadcrumb navigation on their collections pages, which allows customers to easily keep track of where they are and effortlessly backtrack as they navigate throughout the site.

The website also uses the very popular Shopify app Recharge to help manage subscriptions for customers wanting regular deliveries of pet food.
