Example of 3D Printing Application

Though 3D printing gets more and more known amongst many people and communities, many still ask the same question over and over again: "what is the purpose of a 3D printer and what can I do with it?". 

For all 3D printer fellows, many would get on fire and start giving many examples of what they printed out, or the projects they are working on. Though FDM technology still has many limitations like supports post-processing or parts slicing, it still allows you to design and make some amazing things with a little bit of patience.

The following example will show you that 3D printing can really be amazing and bring entertainment to you, your friends, and family. This guitar was found on Thingiverse and was sliced in three parts: the body, the base of the neck, and the top part of the neck. The body was printed on the Rapide Lite 500 (build volume of 50cm3), and both the two parts of the neck were printed on the Rapide Lite 200XL (build volume of 20cm2 by 40cm height). Three 3D printed parts in PLA, a final assembly with super glue, and a little bit of shopping at a guitar shop for the mechanics and some classic strings and this is what you get: a full guitar perfect for holidays, your child, at the beach, or just for jamming wherever and whenever you want. 

This is a good example of what can be done on a 3D printer. Designers can prototype what they have in mind into reality in order to better visualise, hobbyists can enjoy the creation and the use of 3D printed objects (repair, house appliances, projects, etc etc), companies can check parts before making a mould, and so on. Possibilities and applications are unlimited, and this is part of the reason why 3D printing is on the verge of becoming the new technologic trend, that will promote and develop to a new level creativity and 3D design in our world.
