How to deal with exam stress?
We all have faced different types of exams in our life at some point. A little stress can be viewed as a good thing as it acts as the motivational push in our life to get things done while we are being in focused. If have you felt some of these signals, then you have undergone exam stress definitely. They are, nail biting, fidgeting, teeth grinding, headaches with tensed muscles, trouble in sleeping, lack of motivation, feeling overwhelmed or confused, feeling moody, trouble in making decisions, losing touch of loved ones etc.
Even there can be certain reasons where students may experience exam stress. Most of the time the students feel that they are not completely prepared and get worried that they might fail. Even they may not have enough time to study. Sometimes there can be the family pressure to get good marks as the cause of exam stress. Some students get exam stress as they wanted to do well in the exam with a predetermined result and a need of competition.
According to my experience, most of the students stay awake several nights, survive on poor diets and get less amount of movement near to the exam. These habits automatically increase your stress by burning yourself out. Main thing is that you need to accept your situation and work according to a plan to maximize your productivity as a student. Even getting the social support from family, friends, peers or teachers can boost your confidence and autonomy during exam time.
So, what can you do to avoid exam stress?
1)?????My first tip is to make a study plan with realistic goals well ahead of the exam. Break down what needed to be done into smaller tasks of a study session. Waiting till the last moment for studying definitely will take away your inner peace as there is a bigger chance that you can panic at the exam. Hence, you need to adhere to a proper routine while sticking a specific time to study, have meals and sleep.
2)?????A well-balanced diet, exercise and quality sleeping hours are essential to maintain the energy levels during the study period.
