Not exactly clear what is going on between Trump and McConnell, but the statement "McConnell has a death wish" does appear to be a threat

Generally I do NOT want to be given too much credence to what is said in Palmer report, but in this case the man GONGED IT. It does not appear to be a threat, but the insinuation is enough to trigger MAGA extremists into actual violence

It is the sort of insinuation we have seen before from DONALD TRUMP

Insinuation and incitement. Recall what Trump said in January 6, 2021 ?

quote

"If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore."

End of quote

That was reported by the BBC January 13, 2021, and the timing of the remark was just before the mob waded in to assault the capital.

The phrase OUT of context appears commendable. The timing and the location make it incitement.

Back to McConnell and Trump

As has been widely reported Trump is enraged that McConnell has given official backing to the Election protection act McConnell for his own reasons has thrown his weight behind. What does appear to be the case is that Trump was and is all in in terms of fixing a 2024 "victory" should he , Trump run in 2024 and that McConnell is not having any of it

What is the calculation here? INTIMIDATION at the very least.

What may have triggered it ? An ancient Trump - McConnell hate which has been going on since 2015

McConnell never did like Trump

Also this may have triggered Trump

On Friday the Washington Post reported that Donald Trump’s attorney Christina Bobb is willing to cooperate with the DOJ regarding the letter she previously signed which falsely stated that there were no classified documents in Trump’s home. If this is accurate and Bobb goes through with cooperating, it’ll ensure Trump is convicted on obstruction of justice at the least. Perhaps this is what set Trump off on Friday night, in arguably his most deranged – and violent – meltdown to date.

end of quote

And yes Trump DID have a meltdown

quote

McConnell is “willing to take the country down with him.” Then Trump added that McConnell “has a DEATH WISH.”

Wait, did Trump just threaten Mitch McConnell’s life? It seems to read that way. Given that McConnell is a United States Senator, this may even be a matter for the Secret Service. In any case, Trump is not being wise here; for all we know these kinds of threats could end up playing a role in his criminal trial. They show that after Trump’s words incited the January 6th Capitol attack, he’s continued to attempt to incite violence instead of learning from January 6th.

end of quote

Yes, the incitement was deliberate

Keep in mind that Trump has had a tie in with incitement to violence before and that McConnell is having no more to do with it, and making a January 6 2021 revisit now directly criminalized

Appears that Trump has had his hand caught in the cookie jar, and that he and his supporters were DEFINITELY planning January 6, 2021 AGAIN in 2025 and that Trump is acting out in rage in that the GOP old guard is not genuflecting to that plan

Time for the Secret service to get involved

Donald Trump appears to threaten Mitch McConnell’s life in completely psychotic meltdown

In a post to his own social media network that sounds like it can’t possibly be real, but is indeed real, Donald Trump laid into his former ally Mitch McConnell, before?asking ?if McConnell is “willing to take the country down with him.” Then Trump added that McConnell “has a DEATH WISH.”

Trump then went on to hurl a racial slur at McConnell’s wife Eliane Chao that’s so nasty, we won’t repeat it here. But suffice it to say that this might be Trump’s most over the top deranged meltdown to date. Something has clearly set him off in a panic, whether it’s the?reporting ?that his attorney may cooperate against him, or something else, and Trump clearly fears he’s getting indicted soon
