Exciting New Project with USAID in Tanzania
After collaborating with the USAID-funded Feed the Future Kilimo Tija Project as a non-grantee for the past year, EWS-KT Tanzania will now be supporting smallholder farmers in southwestern Tanzania under a 3-year grant from Kilimo Tija.
VeggieTap App Launched in Africa
Following the success of our VeggieTap farming app in Myanmar and the Philippines, we recently launched VeggieTap for Africa, developed with SkillEd. Available in 6 languages, this free, easy-to-navigate app is designed for commercial farmers and home gardeners in Africa.

Women Farmers Study: Focus on Myanmar
Our inaugural study on women farmers involved discussions with women in India, the Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda. To add to this knowledge base, we turned next to Myanmar, and our report on women farmers in Myanmar has just been released.
World Environment Day Webinar on Soil Health
In collaboration with two of our knowledge partners—Koppert Foundation and Wageningen University & Research—we held a live World Environment Day webinar on soil health and offered steps that farmers can take to mitigate damage and help restore soil fertility.
Sharing Knowledge at MELA Workshop
The 2024 Mekong Extension Learning Alliance exchange workshop featured a presentation by Farmer Extension Manager Girlie Frando on digital agricultural extension services, as well as panel participation by Swaroop Nanu, Media and Communications Manager for Farmer Extension.
