EVs: Charge Ahead with Z Energy, Cardlink Systems & Power Trip
Happy Wednesday from All Things Fleet. This week we dive into the world of EV Charging! ?
As New Zealand makes the stride toward a sustainable future with electric vehicles (EVs), various service providers are making it easier for Kiwis to make the transition. For example, Z Energy NZ has recently launched their EV at Home Plan and CardLink Systems Ltd has introduced CardSmart Electric, a solution for managing mixed fleets of fuel and EVs with ease.
Additionally, our new Power Trip integration is a game-changer for fleet managers as it links historic driving data with Power Trip's game plan solution to create tailor-made EV transition strategies.
Let's explore these new solutions...
Z Energy's EV at Home Plan
As New Zealand gradually transitions from conventional fuel-powered vehicles to electric alternatives, many questions naturally arise in the minds of Kiwis - How will we charge EVs at home, and how much will it cost?
That's where Z Energy NZ comes in. A couple of weeks ago the fuel company answered these questions with their announcement of their new EV at Home Plan.
According to their recent LinkedIn post, this plan is tailored to simplify and make the transition to EVs more cost-effective. It includes complimentary power during the early morning hours from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m., along with reduced rates during specific nighttime periods (T&Cs apply).
Their primary goal is to support Kiwis in their endeavour to adopt more sustainable energy sources. Here's a breakdown of what their plan offers:
This plan is compatible with various charging options, including a standard three-pin plug, an EV wall charger, or a Smart Charger.

Cardlink Systems introduces CardSmart Electric
If you're in the process of shifting your fleet to electric while still maintaining fuel-powered vehicles, Cardlink now offers a solution that streamlines the management of both on a single invoice.
Cardlink's approach is straightforward: "One card for all your fleet's needs." Acknowledging that transitioning to an all-electric fleet can be a gradual process, they present CardSmart Electric as a flexible solution that lets you manage both your fuel and EV charging expenses under a unified account.
