The Evolving Small in The Large IT Industry

The Evolving Small in The Large IT Industry

I recently reached 21 years in IT experience, Officially an Adult in the industry ??. While I worked across multiple SI over the years playing career shaping roles which led me to Prowess Today where I am leading the Delivery overall. My earlier experience working across Companies which sized between 20,000 employees in 2004 at Satyam to 3,00,000 employees at CTS, LTI Mindtree and Wipro taught me that only biggest can survive and others try to be big as well. Yes Innovation is necessary, process is important, systems are needed but in rapid growth a lot was and is left behind. Focus slowly moves away from finding happiness in doing things and making the difference to what is getting reported. But that’s purely my perspective and I can be absolutely wrong.

?Anyways the point is not that, its about how I see Prowess and may such smaller SI’s thriving in the industry while trying to make an impact.

The Evolving Services Industry: Opportunities for All

The services industry is undergoing a remarkable transformation, transcending its traditional boundaries and opening doors for smaller players to thrive. Historically, the sector was dominated by large Systems Integrators (SIs) who possessed the resources, expertise, and reach to serve extensive client bases. However, this landscape is rapidly changing, driven by technological advancements, shifting consumer preferences, and the rise of agile business models.

?

Technology and needs are Great Equalizers

One of the primary catalysts for this shift is the rapid advancement of technology. API, Customer Experience, Cloud computing, artificial intelligence, have levelled the playing field, enabling smaller service providers to deliver sophisticated solutions at a fraction of the cost. With access to powerful tools and platforms, players like Prowess now competes effectively with the industry giants, offering specialized and innovative services tailored to niche markets.

?

Customer-Centric Approach

Another significant factor reshaping the services industry is the growing emphasis on customer-centricity. Clients are no longer content with generic, one-size-fits-all solutions. They seek personalized, responsive, and flexible services that cater to their unique needs. Prowess and Companies like ours, with their agility and close-knit client relationships, are well-positioned to meet these demands. By focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences, loyal client bases and differentiate from larger competitors.

?

Agility and Innovation

In an era where change is constant, agility and innovation are crucial for success. Providers like ours often excel in these areas, leveraging their nimbleness to adapt quickly to market trends and emerging technologies. They can experiment with new ideas, develop customized solutions, and pivot swiftly in response to client feedback. This dynamic approach allows us to stay ahead of the curve and offer cutting-edge services that address evolving business challenges.

?

Collaboration and Ecosystems

Collaboration has become a cornerstone of the modern services industry. Players are increasingly forming partnerships and alliances with other businesses to create comprehensive solutions that deliver greater value to clients. By joining forces with technology vendors, consultants, and other service providers, we expand our capabilities and offer end-to-end services that rival those of the largest SIs. This ecosystem approach enhances their competitiveness and fosters innovation through collective expertise.

The Future is interesting for all

As the services industry continues to evolve, the barriers to entry are diminishing, creating opportunities for businesses of all sizes. Players, armed with technology, customer-centricity, agility, and collaborative networks, are proving that success is not reserved for the Big SIs alone. The future holds immense promise for those who can adapt, innovate, and deliver exceptional value to clients. In this new landscape, being small is no longer a disadvantage; it can be a significant advantage, provided they are good and honest.

Closing comments: the details are basis what I have seen, the growth is immense if the focus is right, attitude is liked and thought is positive. We added 100+ customers over past few months, while we did it we are learning how we don’t commit mistakes that others did, my focus will be to ensure customer don’t miss our focus on their success.
