As the excitement of the holidays is clearly behind us, we move into the “hump day” portion of winter. I believe today is actually Blue Monday - the high point of depression and suicide for people … please don’t take that as a suggestion!
Today I want you to focus on the business planning ideas you have for 2018. Maybe you completed the holiday workbook and specifically mapped goals out. Maybe you’re still in the intention stage or a rough mental picture of what you want 2018 to be. But you have SOME idea of what you want to see this year.
My question today is … does your staff and team know?
Do they know what you want to accomplish in 2018?
Now when I say team it can mean employees, key contractors, alliance partners, key vendors, customers and shareholders. Everyone that can create and influence your business should know something about your plan for the business in 2018 … no matter how loose it is now.
Obviously, the more specific your goals and objectives for the company, the easier it is to explain it to others (AND ensure they get your version of it and don’t interpret their own).
If you haven’t shared your plans … make a calendar event now to do so. Book that staff meeting. Craft an email out to everyone key to your business and tell them of your intentions.
There is power in expressing your plans out loud or in print.
It is always amazing to me how including people in the master plan drives inspiration, enthusiasm, better work levels and a commitment to the business.
