But before I dive into the details, let me tell you a little bit about myself and how I got started in digital marketing, and what it was like back then.
I am the founder Write Right, a content writing agency that serves personalized content to over 1,500 clients across the globe. I am also the founder of Estorytellers, Taletel, Dad of Ad, and the author of 8 published books.?
I am recognized by Google and listed in the Top Content Writers in the World and Best Content Writers in India. I have been a dedicated and contributing writer to Entrepreneur India Magazine, HuffingtonPost, Yourstory, and 15 other reputed blogs.?

How I Started My Digital Marketing Career
I started my digital marketing career in 2014, when I joined a small agency as a content writer. Back then, digital marketing was still a relatively new and emerging field, and there were not many established rules or best practices.?
The main goal was to create as much content as possible, and to rank high on search engines using keywords and links. The quality and relevance of the content were not as important as the quantity and frequency.
I remember writing dozens of articles and blog posts every week on topics that I had little or no interest or expertise in.?
I would use tools like Google Keyword Planner and Moz to find the most popular and competitive keywords, and then try to stuff them into the titles and headings of my articles.
I would also use various link-building techniques, such as guest posting, article submission, directory listing, and social bookmarking, to generate backlinks to my articles.?
I would then monitor the traffic and ranking of my articles using Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools.
I was not very happy or satisfied with this kind of work, as I felt that I was not using my creativity or passion for writing.?
I was also not sure if this was the right way to do digital marketing, as I did not see much engagement or conversion from the visitors who came to my articles. I wondered if there was a better way to do digital marketing, a way that would allow me to express myself and connect with the audience.
How I Discovered Content Marketing
One day, I came across a blog post by Neil Patel, one of the most influential digital marketers in the world. The title of the post was "How to Create a Content Marketing Strategy That Drives Traffic and Conversions.?
I was intrigued by the term "content marketing" and decided to read the post.
The post explained that content marketing is a strategic approach to creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.?
The concept of content marketing blew me away, and I realised that this was the kind of digital marketing that I wanted to do.?
I wanted to create content that would help and inspire the audience, and that would showcase my personality and expertise.?
I decided to learn more about content marketing, I read books and blogs on content marketing, such as Content Marketing Institute, Copyblogger, and HubSpot.?
I also started to apply the principles and techniques of content marketing to my own work, and I saw a remarkable improvement in the quality and performance of my content.
