Documenting my business Journey
It’s has been now almost 6 years that I've been trying to breakthrough in business.
Here are my business attempts with moderate to no success at all:
2012 - Retro Phone docking charger: We were a team of 3, I started as a consultant but ended up fully integrating the project. The product was “ok” but not relevant enough. We presold for $ 7K on a $ 35K goal on Indiegogo.
2013 - 2014 Nepsu M1 Bluetooth/ Wi-fi speaker I: We were a team of 5, we borrowed $ 150K to develop the product. We were way too much entitled and made many rookie mistakes. We canceled the Kickstarter campaign after 1 week with only $ 20k on a $ 100k goal.
2014 - Nepsu B2B Design & Engineering firm: We were a team of 3, developing Design and electronic hardware for a well-established kitchen a cabinet company. The development process was good but too slow, we ended up losing the nearly $ 500k value contract.
2016 - Nepsu Triangle Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi speaker: We were a team of 7, we launched the product on Indiegogo and reached $ 78K on a $ 75K goal. It was still not enough to start production. After a total of 4 years of working together and $ 700K invested in, the Nepsu team was dissolved.
2017 - Trump Trash Can: I made a trash can that looks like Donald Trump, the video went “viral” on facebook with +390K views but it didn't convert. I presold only 43 units on Kickstarter. I executed to the whole project in a 1-month time frame. I learned a lot about growth hacking.
2017 - Rebel Stickers: On the Trump Trash Can video, people were asking toilet bowls of Donald Trump so I created a sticker for the toilet bowl as a "nothing to lost attempt" I Sold only for $ 264 on Kickstarter (It’s ok to laugh at me)
2017 - Qzik: Dynamic music playlist App: We were a team of 5, we worked for 6 months on the project. The app was released on the App store but Spotify closed the feature that let us make multiple requests on the same account.
Lastly, I founded Voizier where we (only I for now) aim to create and produce sustainable & eco-friendly consumer electronic products. I'm still alone for now but I'm seeking to build a team. I will be revealing Voizier's first product soon.
I'm now technically at my 8th attempt and haven't succeeded yet. But I love way more the climb than anything, I want way more to keep the game going than actually "winning" at it.
