This is a very interesting point here, which one needs to understand, our body has all these constituents, like sparsha, anu(referring to micro level) + nasika(voice coming out of nose)=anunasika, antashtha(coming deep within the body), usman/samgarshi(this refers to the voice coming out forciblely. Then too further more if you see, there are two ways that voice is ghosha referring to a female who was known as a?Brahmavadini ?or speaker or proclaimer of?Brahmana . Agho?a (????) refers to “unvoiced consonants” in Sanskrit grammar. Though here one needs to practically understand the very existence of the shabda bheda from the view point of voiced and unvoiced. If we see carefully these vowels and consonant sounds play key role. This is where the modulation and demodulation of the sound started.

Very interestingly rigveda, and samaveda are two vedas which had that influence of the vowel, and consonants sounds.

However as the centuries and years passed by for the benefit of the one who is persuing music, they further modified the words.

Now we need to understand about prana and maha prana. This refers to the shakthi or power that you are trying to use when practicing. Specifically vowel sounds. And most of vowel sounds are very much related or interconnected to get connected to that higher levels. The swasa aspects come into picture. The higher and lower notes [lay a keyrole.

Thus this forms to be base level for strong foundation of the learning the musical notes to my perception.

?Science of sound

"In a sense, air going into our body in different ways is a manifestation of the yogic science: it is because of the vibrations caused in our nadis as a result of the passage of our breath that our emotions and powers take shape. There is a saying, "What is in the macrocosm is present in the microcosm." As mentioned before, the vibrations within us produce vibrations outside also and these are the cause of worldly activities. That is why those who have mastered the mantras have the same powers as those who have achieved yogic perfection controlling their breath. The one is mantrayoga, the other is Rajayoga."

Our throat has a similar system to produce sound. It is not that the throat alone is involved in this process.??Speaking or singing is an exercise that has its source below the navel in the "muladhara" the spinal column. From this point the breath is brought up in various measures as we speak or sing.?

The four primary vowels ( sv?ra)

A Aa?(a ?) is called achyuta (a- not, chyuta-changeable).?It is connected to Visnu.

(i é) is called Shakti (energy/goddess) as it will change.

(u ü) is called Shambu and is connected to shiva.

(? è) and??(l? lè) are connected to the ??i (sages) and Agni (fire). The ? is pronounced as ‘ri’ in north India and ‘ru’ in south India.

2 Ayogav?has?(Anusvara and Visarga)(vital parts of sanskrit language)

(a??) is called Anusv?ra which means that which is spoken anu-after a vowel-sv?ra. It is nasal resonance that is made without closing the lips. If you close the lips it will resonate on the lips instead of at the sahasrara chakra.

(aù) is called Visarga and relates to creation a destruction, it has fire and can make things sprout or burn things to make them end. Anusv?ra is one point (bindu) and is connected to shiva. While Visarga has has 2 points and is connected to Shakti.

The vowels (sv?ra) are ruled by the Sun. They are ‘sv?’- self and ‘ra’-effulgent/shining. They can stand alone without support. They are Purusha, and represent consciousness.

The consonants cannot stand alone, they need the support of a vowel. The Prakritti (creation) cannot stand (exist) without Purusha (consciousness). Every consonant is lame without a stick, so ‘ a’ (?A?) is already part of the each letter. In this way?k?(?K?) becomes?ka?(?k?) when an?a?(?A?) is added to it. A consonant is not written without a vowel. The sv?ra are self shining in that they are consciousness, they do not need anything added to them to be pronounced, to shine.

When these vowel sound or swaras are added to the word or shabda, that’s when the strength of the word lies upon. However if we see again a, aa, I, eee, o, uuu and mmm are the sound that happen to be in the beejakshara,

Ome, aim, hreem, shreem, kleem are the beejamanthras which have all the above sounds or swaras. This if we take it further to in reference to music, sa, re, ga, ma, pa, da, dha, paa, sa, saa the same rule applies. Thus this is again a vital point that medical scientists should be understanding from the physiological and psychological point of view.

The psychosis point of view of understanding the brain functions is mainly dependent on the shabda bheda or nada upasana to my understanding. Yet again individual perceptions vary. This is just my point of view.

As I was specifying the four upper chakras from in heart, then gets transformed in the form of sound in the throat, thus going the end outpout of generating that sound in between two eyebrows. Then the moment this happens, then goes to sahasrara.

1) Vowels, sounds of the Sun: a, ā, i, ī, u, ū, ?, ?, ?, ??, e, ai, o, au.

2) Ka-varga, sounds of Mars: K, Kh, G, Gh, ?.

3) Ca-varga, sounds of Venus: C, Ch, J, Jh, ?.

4) Retroflexs, sounds of Mercury: ?, ?h, ?, ?h, ?.

5) Dentals, sounds of Jupiter: T, Th, D, Dh, N.

6) Labials, sounds of Saturn: P, Ph, B, Bh, M.

7) Semi-vowels, sounds of the Moon (+Ketu): Y, R, L, V.

Sibilants & H, sounds of the Moon (+ Rahu): Sh, Sh, S, H.

9) Anusvāra & visarga (? / ?) = Asvini-kumaras

&

14 Vowels = 14 lokas

33 vyanjanas = 33 main deities (8 Vasus, 12 Adityas, 11 Rudras)

? All the short vowels ? ? ? ? ? are also linked to the Pingala. These are considered to be masculine, of potential energy and steady. When we utter a short vowel it gets linked to the Pingala. All consonants when linked to a short vowel are link more strongly to the Pingala.

? The long vowels ? ? ? ? ? link only to Ida. These are considered feminine or active or varying in nature. And when we utter a consonant with a long vowel it gets linked to the Ida.

? The vowels ? ? ? ? are also linked to the Sushumna. These are considered to be genderless, they can neither be considered to be active nor inactive. A consonant with the vowels ? ? ? ? gets linked to the sushumna.

? There are the two support vowels.

? Am ?? is linked to the Purush, the constant unchanging masculine witness. A consonant uttered with the ‘am’ or ‘ang’ ending gets linked to Purush. ‘ang’ makes it very intense.

? Aha ?? also called the ‘Visarga’ is linked to Prakruti or the feminine active principle of creation. A consonant uttered with the ‘aha’ vowel ending is linked to Prakruti.

All the consonants are basically linked more to the Pingala.

? All the 25, gutturals, palatals, cerebrals, dentals and labials are considered to link to the Pingala.

? However the semi-vowels – ya, ra, la, va, the sibilants – ? ? ? and the last three consonants – ? ? ??? are linked to the Sushumna. ? and ??? are very important Akshar are they are linked to the two petals of the Ajnya chakra lotus. And the ? is linked in the Sahasrar.

Akshar which are connected to the Sushumna, so we have our list, the vowels ? ? ? ? ?? ?? and the consonants ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?. If you observe our Mantras they are more composed of these Akshar. These mantras drive the energy directly into the Sushumna.

Every Sanskrit Akshar links with your chakras and you will eventually experience their true power in your spiritual progress. When we speak, we cannot utter the consonants on their own. They have to be linked with a vowel to be uttered out loud. When you utter these sounds, Akshar, you are manipulating your body and mind energies using their targeted energies. If you consciously do this you can bless, curse or progress faster spiritually.
