Evolution of a Display - The Success of Carnivore Meat Company's Display (Part 2)

In our last article, we discussed the success Carnivore Meat was experiencing with their display. I would like to share with you the back story, as I am a display geek and find things like this extremely interesting. Hopefully, you will too.

While there are many quality display manufacturers, there were some issues we inherited with Carnivore's initial display.

Initially, Carnivore Meats was purchasing the display from one supplier, buckets from a second supplier, polybags from a third, tongs from a fourth and printed materials from a fifth.

Rhino Global Solutions was able to supply all elements to them, significantly simplifying the ordering process. This eliminated a great deal of labor on Carnivore’s part since they did not have to touch the displays once they entered their building.

1st Generation Display

There were additional problems with their original display:

? Spinners did not spin smoothly - We re-engineered the spinners so they would spin quietly and have a smooth feel.

? The pole was a single piece - We were able to make the pole two pieces while increasing the stability of the display. This enabled us to reduce the packaging by approximately 20%, significantly reducing the shipping cost per unit.

About 1,500 displays and a year later, we received a call and a new set of challenges. Carnivore wanted the display to have greater flexibility to accommodate any possible product mix.

Baskets with adjustable dividers allowed for total flexibility of the product mix. It didn’t matter if a retailer wanted one, two, three or four different products in a basket.

With this change, the signage needed to have the same flexibility. Accordingly, we developed moveable signage that matched the curve of the tray.

2nd Generation Display

As good as this was, Carnivore made a branding change. Their new look was to be centered on Raw Bar, so we had to engineer a look that would do justice to the idea of Raw Bar and use the proper materials.

3rd Generation Display at Trade Show

This took exhaustive testing of various material and design options. Not only did it need to work on the next round of displays, but we also needed to retrofit it to existing displays in the field. The consensus was our engineering team crushed it.

So, next time you look a display and think not much goes into it, think about this display and the evolution that has taken place. If we can be of assistance to your display team, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Stay tuned for more case studies.

We are grateful for your expertise and collaboration on our RAW BAR. Thank you, Jerry Smith!
