This evolution in healthcare came with an unlimited potential for growth. It elevated each patient’s experience. It also meant that information became readily available and public to anyone seeking it. 

In the past, information about the newest treatments and the latest experimental medicines was only available to industry professionals.

Today, patients are the owners of their healthcare journey. They feel empowered to make decisions related to their health. 

The digitalisation of healthcare meant that patients could now take on a proactive approach in their healthcare decision making, allowing them to decide about their health and wellbeing. 

What does that mean for healthcare professionals? This shift in the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients is an important one. It is a way of allowing informed decision making to become more accessible to patients as well as their doctors. Now, they jointly make a call on the best available treatment plan.

This information is then shared with their treating doctors to provide them with as much background as possible.
