The noise came through from the downstairs for the third time that morning as Moe Zayat cursed. They knew better than to make that kind of noise. If they didn’t, he’d soon teach them.
“Blast them,” he said under his breath.
Checking the time, he went to look out the front window again. He did not like the idea of a client coming here but they insisted.
Otherwise, the client had said, the deal would not move forward. His term. So, for twenty head, Moe dropped his objection. Twenty head was twenty head.
He looked at his Hublot again, wondering if he had time to render punishment before Terence Richardson arrived. Best not chance it.
Looking out his window, he congratulated himself on the choice of the location for his home. Given his profession, seclusion as well as accessibility often proves a hard dilemma to solve. Yet he prided himself for finding both in this house, a regal six-bedroom tucked away in the Virginia forest along the George Washington Parkway. The irony that Langley stood within a mere half mile amused him.
From below, he heard another thump and a cry. He breathed deeply then exhaled with measure.
“I’m going to mess them up.”
He turned to Victor. “Go downstairs and shut them up. I don’t want them making any noise when Richardson gets here.”
“Yes, boss.” Victor pivoted to obey his orders.
He looked at the Sapphire again. Waiting. He had always hated waiting.
He heard a car approach. He moved to the bay windows to look out the front.
