Evie, a Texas girl, is recovering from a brain aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation diagnosis since May 2022.

Evie suffered a torn brain aneurysm and was diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) from birth (we did not know about it). It all was in the cerebellum but also damaged some of her midbrain.

She had a 6-hour brain surgery that night and other surgeries followed.

Doctors believed that Evie did not have the chance of survival. ?

She is currently in a minimally conscious state waiting to be fully conscious. In the meantime, she is participating in home therapies that include physical, occupational, and speech.

We are in the unknown. We are heartbroken. But, we have you all here to help us through this tragedy.

We are sharing Evie’s story to help other families who may be going through the same or similar struggle. Again, we were told many times Evie would not make it but we still wanted to take care of her. We wanted her to have her last days at home.

But Evie Had Other Plans. Once we got to take her home, she opened her eyes more, she started to kick, and cough on her own. She didn’t need the ventilator during the day.

We are hopeful! We continue to take care of her like any loving parent would do. We share much of what we went through in our book, But Evie Had Other Plans.

Thank you for praying for Evie!
