Evidence of the Strategic Why

Simon Sinek, Patrick Lencioni, and Jesus Christ (philosophically speaking) would all beg us to gain organizational clarity around the “why”. Why does our organization exist? And importantly, how do we turn our answer into actionable behaviors?.?

And… If we understand the purpose of our existence, do our behaviors really support it? (That’s the scary question).?

1. What operational and relational evidence exists that would prove it to be true. You can tell that we exist to accomplish mission X because we engage in these specific operational and relational behaviors.?
2. What operational and relational evidence exists that might prove it to be untrue? We say that we exist for reason X, but the fact that we sometimes engage in these specific operational and relational behaviors might suggest otherwise.

Digging deep into these questions with real vulnerability can be fruitful if not a bit intimidating. But a worthwhile endeavor I think.
