Everything You Need to Know About Pricing Your Coaching?Services

This is a journal entry from when I started my coaching business. (Prices are in INR)

I literally had only 2 packages on the money.

Over time I had only 1 standard package?—?2 months, 6 sessions, INR 35k / USD 500.

And if required, I’d customize it according to what the client would need.


There are hundreds of ways in which different coaches price their services.

What’s the best one?

Well… it’s your coaching business.

Whatever works for you best, is the best one for you.

Here are 7 important points to consider while setting the prices of your services:

1/ Enoughness

There’s no shortage of marketing gurus asking coaches to keep increasing their prices. Just like any other business. Growth growth growth, and then some more growth. What’s enough for you? Set your prices on that note.

2/ Simplicity

There’s also no need to use the charm pricing… the ones you see in ads, like $99 or $997… simply use $100 or $1000.

People are smart. Don’t try to fool them with this manipulative technique.

3/ Authenticity+Alignment

Your price needs to sit right with you. It doesn’t matter what I or any other mentor thinks of your price. Make sure to align your prices with your inner self.

4/ Commitment doesn’t always come from high-ticket payments

That’s a myth. I’ve seen clients paying the full amount and then ghosting their coaches. That being said, this works for some people. Some people are more committed after they invest a higher amount in something.

I have attended multiple free workshops/courses with so much attention too. So, I’ve experienced this first hand.

5/ You may already be charging too?high

If you don’t have 50–70% of your client capacity filled right now, and you get a lot of “I don’t have money” reasons from your potential clients… you may already be charging too high.

I wouldn’t blame you for increasing your prices unnecessarily. Marketing gurus will tell you to keep raising your prices.

I know. Been there. Done that.

And then I’ve lowered my prices too.

You’re allowed to lower your prices.

6/ Money is a made-up?number

Start super low. If you don’t have your first 10 paid clients, maybe charge only $30 / INR 500 per session. And you can raise your prices even after every client. Totally your decision.

7/ Opportunities for people in?need

Here’s something for consideration. If you and I don’t support people who don’t have resources… who else will?

I understand the distinction between being resourceful and having resources. Nonetheless, the world needs more hope and support.

Can you create a few scholarship slots… or maybe offer sliding-scale pricing? There are so many ways you can help someone in need.
