Everything You Need To Know About Management You Learned in Kindergarten

I'm excited to be developing a new Executive Leadership workshop and presentation for delivery starting this year, based on the precepts of an article I wrote in the Municipal Monitor professional magazine - Everything I Need to Know about Management I Learned in Kindergarten (see link below).

The genesis of my article and the executive training workshop, is Robert Fulghum's classic poem, 'All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.' The dynamic, interactive session will explore critical leadership principles through the lens of the paradigm imparted to us back in kindergarten. As leaders, as we navigate challenges, our default is often to over analyze and complicate our response. We tend to look for deeper meaning and subtext when often the simple solution is right in front of us. But by reverting to the core principles which were ingrained in us back in kindergarten, we can address complex strategic leadership challenges in a more efficient, effective way, and with better and more sustainable outcomes.

Key management concepts I will explore with participants include: accountability; communication; performance management; delegation; teamwork; ethics; attitude; stress management; analytics; group dynamics; adaptation; and diversity.
