Features in Android O

1. Background Limits

With the launch of Android Oreo, Google is focusing on saving the battery life of user smartphones and on intelligent execution.

To get this thing done they decided to put restrictions on the processes which applications perform being incognito.

The three regions include: foundation administrations, area refreshes, and verifiable communicates. With a proper execution of these progressions, the insignificant effects on user’s device and its battery life will be eventually minimized.

2. Notification channels

This feature will give extra control on notifications enabling users to customize the notifications they receive from mobile applications. Thus, you can now block the unnecessary information which the app provides, and can save a lot of time for your daily routine.

Apart from this, even the developers will be able to change the way their app notification interacts with the user by changing its background color. This not only can help prioritize the notification but will also allow them to add some extra content in it during the collapsed form.

3. Autofill APIs

While a few might find this boring, but once you’ll have it, you’ll undoubtedly feel the ease.

With Android O, Google is introducing Autofill APIs that will allow you to securely store your details like address, contact detail, mail address, passwords etc. Users can select data-storing apps which can play the role of their autofill app.

4. Picture-in-Picture

Let us suppose you have an important mail waiting to be read, but you also don’t wish to pause and move back to mailbox leaving behind the video you are watching.

Android O introduces Picture-in-Picture feature, which allows you to keep watching the video while reading/replying to that important mail.

This becomes possible by keeping the video at the bottom of your phone’s screen in form of a small window. Thus now you won’t have to stop watching your favorite video every time you have some other important work to be done.

5. Adaptive Icons

This is another feature which will impact the user experience with its adaptive look. Till date, we have seen that the mobile apps we download from app store often throws off the looks when gets installed.

The custom OS skins will now get retreat through adaptive icons, which will transform their shape automatically keeping in mind your home screen theme.

This multi-shape options available includes a circle, square, rounded square or any other thing which helps in making your home screen look better.

6. Connectivity

Gone are the days of tangling wires of earbuds and cans, smartphone users today prefer connectivity through Bluetooth. Google has proved that they understand the changing user needs and are prepared to remold themselves for better service.

With the release of Android 8.0 people will have their devices loaded with ‘high-quality Bluetooth codecs’, which not only will improve the quality of wireless cans but will also provide Hi-Res Audio Playback over Bluetooth by utilizing Sony’s LDAC technology.

To make this happen Sony, in fact, became a major partner and contributed by providing over 30 feature enhancements and 250 bug fixes till date.

7. Multi-Display Support

This feature might not be useful to everyone but indeed is a major step. As we know that Chrome OS is becoming friendly with Android, Google’s this feature might come as a corresponding with a Chromebook. However, for this feature, we cannot say anything confirms as of now but can wait till it lands.
