Only about two-thirds of workers are confident in having enough money to live comfortably in retirement. From rising inflation to increased debt, there are many reasons people are worried about their financial future. When saving for retirement, it can be a good idea to start setting money aside as soon as possible. If delayed too long, there can be a greater risk of needing more money to live comfortably as a retiree. Fortunately, with a detailed plan and budget, it’s possible to build a comfortable nest egg and ensure enough savings for retirement. Here are a few tips to help kickstart retirement planning in the later stages of life.

Tips
Starting a conversation with a new prospective client can be hard. As financial professionals, we have a ton of great information to share but where do we start? Giving someone too much data can quickly overwhelm the listener but too little information and they may not realize how much they need what you can provide. Here is an easy way to organize your thoughts: OTCA . . . create an Opener - Say why you were Thinking of them - Let them know what is of Concern and end with a call to Action!
Example: Hi Erika - this is Tracy Tamura, I'm a local financial professional and I am reaching out to select people in our community with an important message. I am calling you today because I would like to quickly share what is on my clients minds more often now then ever and see if this is on your mind as well. The concern I hear often is that people are confused over their options for paying for long term illnesses that could occur in the future. Does that concern you? I would like to schedule a quick introductory 30 minute meeting to discuss how I address this concern and what your options might be. I find that people are often not aware of all that is available. How about next Tuesday afternoon at 4pm?
*************************************************************************************
An OTCA approach is quick - to the point and professional. If they are interested, great and if not, you can quickly and politely move on - saving you both time!
Here is a quick video on the method and I am happy to send you the OTCA worksheet as well.
If you would like to learn more about OTCA book time on my calendar for a quick discussion. I have many different scripts that I'm happy to share. https://calendly.com/tracytamura
